The Time Monk Presents
Tim Burton's take on Alice in Wonderland hits theaters this week. It is the latest in many attempts to bring Lewis Carroll's characters to life on screen (and to add unique twists to the original story). Here's what I wonder -- is there anyone out there who has only read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and never seen any of the movies? Or...is there anyone who read the book first? When I picked up this classic, I couldn't help but imagine Disney cartoon characters and some random made-for-TV version of the story that invaded my youth. I feel much better prepared to assess how this latest movie stacks up to other movies than how it compares to the book.
