The secret to the lost symbols

The Time Monk Presents

In the second week of our series on summer page turners, I want to turn to a sub-genre within mysteries -- the Hollywood Crime Novel. My favorite Hollywood crime novel is The Black Dahlia by James Ellroy. First released in 1987, The Black Dahlia takes the true details of the unsolved 1947 Elizabeth Short murder and creates a fictional story of a police detective determined to solve the case. It is exquisitely written and hard to put down.

If you are looking for a more current Hollywood mystery, try Hollywood Station by Joseph Wambaugh.

Do you have a favorite Hollywood mystery that you would recommend?
