Prize in a hunt for "the Holy Grail"

The Time Monk Presents

Francine Pascal, author of the Sweet Valley Twins and Sweet Valley High series will publish a hardcover adult novel with St. Martin's Press: Sweet Valley Confidential. The book will feature Elizabeth and Jessica as adults.

In the press release, Pascal says, "I've had thousands of queries from fans over the years wondering what Jessica and Elizabeth would be like as adults...Well, Sweet Valley Confidential should give them all the answers. And I can guarantee they will be very surprised. Actually, more like shocked."

My gut tells me this could be very, very bad -- sort of like remembering how you used to love downing pixy stix and spinning endlessly on a tire swing. It's just not the same in your 30s as it was at 13. Still, there is something exciting about revisiting some favorite characters from my youth.

Which got me thinking...Who else would I like to see as an adult? Are the Boxcar Children still solving mysteries from the back of a train, or do they have lovely four bedroom, 3 bath houses in the suburbs? Did Encyclopedia Brown become a real detective or is he working in a cubicle? Is it better to know these things or to leave these characters in eternal youth?
