Top 10 Books of the Decade

This weekend as I gathered with family, I was talking about a book I was reading wen somebody commented, "I don't really read." I started to think about how many of the people in my family were not readers. Mind you, they are all intelligent people who read lots of books to their kids and value education, but it doesn't appeal to them to read books for fun.
I am always surprised when I remember people like this exist. I read for a living and prefer vacations that require little more than a book in a beautiful place.
If you are reading this, you are probably interested in books. But I wonder, did any of you convert to "reader" status as adults? Has anyone else had the experience of realizing that a family member or close friend doesn't have any interest in reading the fabulous book that you are so excited about?
